Please join Library Special Collections for a presentation and talk from Book Artist and 2020 Karmiole Fellow Maureen Cummins. In addition to speaking about her past experiences as an artist-in-the-archive—reading briefly from a work-in-progress which explores the relationship between the Roe reversal and the history of eugenics—Cummins will speak bout her UCLA project, Bookkeeper, an investigation into the economics of publishing.

Several of Cummins' works from LSC’s Artists’ books collection, including Crazy Quilt from 1998 and Anatomy of Insanity from 2008, will be displayed. These works have supported research and inquiry in both undergraduate and graduate seminars as well as California Rare Book School courses. Light refreshments to follow the talk.
