Made possible by a gift from Lifu Wang

The Lifu Wang Chinese Cultural Endowment was established by the Wang family in order to honor Mr. Wang’s legacy. Born in the Huaibei City, Anhui Province, China, in 1941, he attended college and, after graduation, became an accountant in 1958. He subsequently pursued a government career in Suixi. He was admired by his family and friends for his humility, generous spirit, unwavering kindness, and love for everyone. He encouraged all of his loved ones to fulfill their potential by helping others around them, regardless of their personal backgrounds. Mr. Wang’s favorite pastime was classical literature and calligraphy; he was a scholar at heart in the truest and highest sense. Mr. Wang passed away in 2012 and is fondly remembered by his wife, four children, six grandchildren, and friends. The Lifu Wang Chinese Cultural Endowment in the Richard C. Rudolph East Asian Library will support the acquisition and processing of research resources on Chinese culture and related issues under the direction of the head of the East Asian Library.
